Naro Moru Township Primary School
In 2024 Moving Mountains started working at Naro Moru Township Junior and Primary School, an overpopulated school on the western side of Mount Kenya that faces very high student enrollment every year. The project was identified by our team in Kenya and work started in 2024 with the construction of a new kitchen on the grounds of the school. The project was funded by long-term supporters Pat Mullan and Aidan McGlade, who both travelled to Kenya to help our Community Action Team complete the project in September 2024.
Overview
After completing our first project at Naro Moru Township Primary and Junior School in September 2024, Pat Mullan and Aidan McGlade returned to the school in 2025 after fundraising for a brand new toilet block at the school. Along with the Moving Mountains Community Action Team in Kenya, Pat and Aidan helped with the construction of the new toilet black, which was completed in October 2025.

Although Moving Mountains have previously worked in the area, this work had been at rural schools like Kimbo Primary, Tigithi Primary and the Chris Morrone Kiamathaga Secondary School, this would be our first project within Naro Moru town.
We hope to continue with our re-development of the school with the long-term vision to promote education and cognitive development in the entire district, offering a community covering many thousands of people a future with good prospects, a good education for their children and consequently a greater hope for employment in the future.
