Overview
Sapta Gandaki is a school in Kathmandu which has long had links with Moving Mountains. We have recently completed a ten year period supporting eleven children from the Solu Khumbu region and other rural parts of Nepal who have boarded at Sapta Gandaki. The school provides a fee-paying education to secondary level and a high standard of English speaking education that can only be found in Kathmandu in Nepal.
Our long-term support aims to ensure that members of this generation of young people from the Solu Khumbu will continue their studies into tertiary level education in order to fulfill their potential and contribute to the future development of their home communities.
For now we have finished our ten year plan with the students and will gladly consider another intake of students once the long term funds become available. Meanwhile we continue to support children and teachers in the three villages of Bupsa, Bumburi and Khari Khola which are in the solu Khumbu region, in the foothills of the Himalayas near Mount Everest.
